Julian, California Fall Apple Harvest
Julian, CA--Roll
back your wheels, your clock and your state of mind as you
take a scenic drive to Julian, the historic
mountain town. Located in East San Diego County, the
apple growing region celebrates the fall harvest annually in
early October with an apple harvest festival. But throughout
the fall from around mid-September till the applies run out
there's plenty of celebrating to enjoy during your visit.
Apple pies, apple baked goods, and ciders and juices
squeezed fresh from the fruit are heavenly treats.
The Apple Days Festival is part of Julian’s famed annual
fall harvest, which occurs mid-September through
mid-November and celebrates the award-winning apples that
helped Julian prosper after a short-lived gold rush in the
late 1800s. As the apples ripen and the weather cools to a
comfortable mid 60s to 70s, plan your fall escape.
Julian offers a San Diego daytrip or weekend
getaway with a scenic countryside setting, stunning
Victorian architecture, century-old stores, romantic B&Bs
and other well-preserved landmark reminders of its colorful
past. Also, its colorful fall foliage and award-winning
apple pies and ciders are certain to please visitors seeking
a much-needed diversion this autumn.
