Elliott Erwitt:  New York, is a solo exhibition of work by the renowned photographer whose black and white photographs capture daily life in New York City, conveying Erwitt’s trademark visual wit in serendipitous encounters between people and their surroundings.  The exhibition runs from April 1 to May 29, 2010 in San Francisco.  Robert Koch Gallery features the Parisian born Elliott Erwitt, son of Russian emigres who fled the Revolution. Moving with his family from Paris, to Italy, to Hollywood, and to New York, the photographer''s 50 year career in journalism, fashion, and print had made him one of the most versatile photographers in the world. New York Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the Art Institute of Chicago, Paris’s Museum of Modern Art, and Zurich’s Kunsthaus have all featured his works.
